Troy Young
General Manager

Troy, a Wet’suwet’en from Hagwilget Village, is a director, and has been General Manager since 2014. Troy owns and manages Roga and its multiple divisions and ventures. In addition to managing the day to day operations of the company, Troy has been fundamental in the creation and implementation of Roga and Kyah Resources’ Safety Management Systems.


Dennis Callaghan
Chief Executive Officer (Roga)

Dennis Callaghan, BA, MBA, CPA, CMA has been Roga’s Chief Financial Officer since 2019. After a long relationship from other ventures, Dennis came to work with Roga bringing his industry experience with BID Construction, PNL Consulting, and other construction and forestry ventures. Previously, Dennis was also the CFO of the Northern Development Initiative Trust. Dennis provides valued forward-thinking insight into the businesses, without losing the ability to manage cash flows, cost controls, and project management.


Scott Helton
CGL Project Manager

With significant project management experience in western Canada ranging from small ($8m, 4 months) to mega-projects ($3.4b, 4 year) Scott has been involved in all aspects of the project life cycle with experience in Estimating, Project Controls, Contract Management, Operational Execution, and Project Close Out. A Geological Engineer, Scott worked for Kiewit and Graham Construction before joining Kyah Resources, and is currently pursuing his Gold Seal Designation in Project Management from the Canadian Construction Association.


Mike Bayley
Operations Manager

With over 20 years experience in the forest industry, Mike has experience in sawmills, equipment, and logging operations. Mike provides a balanced approach to managing operations, with strong experience in costing, financing, tracking, and personnel management.


Rod Shigeoka
Master Mechanic

Master Mechanic, Rod Shigeoka, is an Interprovincially Certified Heavy-Duty Mechanic, and carries responsibility for Kyah Resources’ fleet of equipment, trucks and pickups. This includes assisting in the purchasing decision, fleet safety for equipment and trucks, and productive availability. Rod has worked in the capacity of mechanic, shop foreman and production foreman on Vancouver Island, Haida Gwaii and Vernon. He has been key in the refining of our safety policy, and intuitive in sourcing innovative ways to increase equipment uptime.

Desmond McKinnon
Community Relations Coordinator

Desmond McKinnon, from the Laksilyu clan, was raised and lives in Witset. Having four children with wife of 21 years, Sherry, Des has a strong bond with the community. Des is a long-term business owner and red seal carpenter. With many years of elected councillor in his past, Des’ knowledge of the community, its members, and the working and value of Wet’suwet’en hereditary system and the elected system, provide strong guidance to Kyah in all dealings on the Territory.
